Starting the day, seeing deer in the yard, eating the apples I set out for them, is a good start.
Taking Sam out for a short ride is a good start for him too.
Sam loves the hills and the mountains, and being on the road, paved or not. He’s driven with me seven times across the United States.
He’s been through everything with me, from the sea to the mountains, through deserts, fields of green, sand storms, lightning storms, rain storms and snow storms. He loves driving with me.
He’s even driven through raging wildfires with me without being afraid because he’s with me, in the 4Runner, and I always get him home.
But today, nothing any more exciting than driving up to the top of the preserve to watch hawks chasing bunnies with a travel mug full of tea in my hand.
I can’t think of one place I’d rather live besides the High Desert of Southern Arizona after living most of my life in big cities.
The natural beauty is eternal.
